Allegory Of George Orwells Animal Farm And The Russian...

The book called Animal Farm demonstrates that the story is an allegory for the Russian Revolution. The story explains about power and how is the society being ruled. At first, it has been nice, until there is power and nobody is actually equal to each other. Mostly, the animals or people do not accept anything like that, but the society has changed and it will never be the same. Therefore, the book, Animal Farm, and history, Russian Revolution, have similar connections of what do the animals and people have a role to play. There is Snowball, who is an allegory of Leon Trotsky from the Russian Revolution. Snowball and Trotsky have a same role: they are both leaders and don’t think about only themselves for dictatorship. The other reason that Moses is like the Russian Orthodox Church because Joseph Stalin (Napoleon) ruled the church from higher values. â€Å"He was quite unchanged, still did no work, and talked in the same strain as ever about Sugarcandy Mountain† (Orwell, 117). This explains that Moses is still talking about Sugarcandy Mountain and after that, the pigs still did not believe him and thought he is lying, but other animals do. It is more like a sign that the place is still waiting for the animals when they die, like an opportunity. Moses has a lot of connection for the Russia n Orthodox Church because they both symbolize religion and are very similar with each other. Finally, there is Mr. Jones and the whole society, which is more likely Tsar Nicholas II and the whole revolution. Mr. Jones is the guy who owns Manor Farm, like Nicholas who’s in charge of the revolution. During Old Major’s speech, â€Å"...Jones will sell you to the knacker, who will cut your throat and boil you down for the foxhounds†¦Ã¢â‚¬  (Orwell, 9). This explains that Mr. Jones had treated the animals terribly and that he will slaughter them. Subcontracting Plans And Its Impact On The United States

Subcontracting Plans Small businesses in the United States (U.S.) have a major impact on the economy, affecting employment, sales and patents. The Small Business Association estimated that small businesses account for 54% of all U.S. sales, 55% of existing jobs and 66% of all new jobs. They account for 40% of retail sales, providing employment for 8 million people. Small businesses are responsible for producing 13 times more patents than larger firms, and constitute 40% of business receipts in the United States (Bagley, 2012). Given that small businesses are vital to a thriving economy, government subcontracting plans are essential to support this key component of America’s financial system. A subcontracting plan is also not required if no subcontract opportunity exists. However, this does require approval above the Contracting Officer level (CO). The second area (Types of subcontracting plans) describes the four types of subcontracting plans, which include: Individual, Commercial, Comprehensive and Master plans. The Individual plan applies only to one contract and covers the entire contract period including options. The Commercial plan is based on the contractor’s fiscal year and all of the commercial products sold. The Comprehensive plan is similar to the commercial plan and can only be negotiated by Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA). The Master plan is negotiated by the CO for each applicable contract and has all the mandatory elements consistent with the individual plan with the exception of the goals. The third area (Mandatory elements) lists the required elements that must be included in the subcontracting plans. Interviews Psychological testing Assessments Referencing Three purposes on induction and how they benefit individuals and organisations It is important for any employee to receive a full and correct induction at the start of their employment, whether they are office or factory based, this is important because it is essential that both United Biscuits and the employee: Following correct policy and procedures from the start. This can avoid any company policies not being complied with or even any laws being broken for example, health and safety act 1998. The employee has background and information on the company in which they have joined. Include an induction plan that identifies areas to be covered, including timelines and those involved in the process. United Biscuits has varied inductions plans depending on your role within the business whether it is in the corporate function teams or a factory based employee. I have attached a copy of our Corporate Induction presentation that is used when a corporate function member of staff joins the business (please see appendix). The induction plan for a factory-based employee is slightly different as this induction includes information, which is relevant to the site they are based in and also to their role within the site. This induction includes a presentation as does the corporate functions, and a number of rules that must be followed at all times whilst on site, for example, certain factories are ‘nut free’ zones this means that you cant take any form of nut, or food containing nuts on to the site. It is important for these rules to be made clear from the start of an employee’s employment to avoid disciplinary action/dismissals from the business at a later stage if these rules are not followed. A factory employee will also have to attend various Health safety courses etc, normally where possible in the first weeks of employment.
